Who We Are

Lilly Small
Owner & Head Instructor
Hi, I'm Lilly!
I'm the owner and head instructor here at Small Steps Studio, and for nearly two years I've had the privilege of helping athletes build confidence, strength, and a love for tumbling. Opening this studio has been one of the biggest blessings of my life, and I truly thank God for every family who walks through those doors.
As a 2022 Heath graduate, former cheerleader, and former 3/4th grade cheer coach, tumbling has been a part of my life for over 10 years. What began as a passion for the sport has grown into an even greater passion... helping athletes of all ages discover what they're capable of and overcome the self doubt that can hold them back.
When I'm not at the studio, you'll usually find me enjoying an iced latte, spending time with family, taking walks with my Blue Heeler, Winnie, or soaking up the sun in a golf cart watching my boyfriend Golf!
My goal goes beyond teaching skills. I want every athlete who enters Small Steps to feel encouraged, determined, and capable of achieving things they never thought possible. Whether your child is learning their first roll or working towards more advanced tumbling, they're welcome here!
Come step inside my studio and walk out feeling fearless
I can't wait to meet your family.

Madalyn Watson
Pre-k tumble instructor, Small Flippers assistant, Star Steppers assistant, Super Steppers assistant.
Hi! My name is Madalyn, but most people call me Maddie or Mads.
I am a sophomore at Heath High School, and sports have always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've been cheering for the past 5 years, with strengths in basing and tumbling! After my first year of cheer, I honestly just fell in love with it and never looked back.
My favorite part of cheer is tumbling. It's not just fun learning new skills and getting new tricks, but it's also helped me grow in so many ways. I've learned to have patience, respect, discipline, confidence, work ethic, and how much body awareness really matters. It's crazy how much the sport teaches you without you even realizing it at first.
When I'm not at practice or doing osmething sports related, I love hanging out with my family, volunteering and helping out with the youth biddy cheer program, shopping, riding 4-wheelers and golf carts, and getting my hair and nails done.
I'm always trying to push myself to get better, not just as an athlete but as a person too. I'm really excited for the opportunity to work with your athletes and help them grow, learn, and fall in love with stumbling just as I did!
